ARA-LT® Marking Technology - Advantages and Possible Applications

Before we describe our technology itself in more detail in the coming weeks, we would first like to provide you with some arguments that might prompt you to try our laser-induced PVD coatings for your purposes. All you need is a commercially available marking laser and one of our ARA-LT laser foils.

But why should you take this step?

There are several reasons: 

- The optical quality and robustness of PVD coatings is exceptional - even treatment with steel wool does not cause any damage. See the video in this article. 

- No pre- or post-treatment of the product surfaces is required. PVD printing" is fast, flexible - and surprisingly inexpensive - and the product surfaces are not affected by the laser beam (even if the material is plastic or paper).

- Only inorganic materials such as metals or ceramic hard materials are used, which are ecologically harmless and occur in large quantities on earth (e.g. titanium, zirconium and their oxides or nitrides).

- It is hardly possible to be more resource-efficient and sustainable: "Conventional" PVD layers are already very thin, with a maximum of a few micrometers, but the laser is used to transfer even much thinner layers - as thick as is required and only exactly where they are needed. One example: Compared to conventionally printed text, a lasered PVD font is more than a hundred times (!) thinner - with the same contrast and better legibility because of the higher contour sharpness.

- Even with large-area PVD laser coatings, the amount of material used is extremely small compared to the effect achieved - let us surprise you!
